VIdeo of the Week: The 800 meters

In this new segment to our blog, Ryan Brown, an assistant coach on our XC program and a World respected half miler and NCAA Champion, competes in the 2007 Pac-10 800 meter Championships. Running here for UW, Ryan displays some great lessons on how to run the 800m correctly. Look at his concentration on the line before the race. Watch how he carries his arms and how strong his stride looks while remaining relaxed and fast. Lastly, see how he is not bothered by race tactics and uses consistency between laps to chase down his opponent in the final 100 meters. For you newbies to the 1/2 mile, this is a great introduction on how to run the 800m successfully!
