Bothell DECA 5k Results

"As Zach rose to sound the blow horn and start the race, the count down  began ...3...2...1...REEEEEEEEEEWWW, the blow horn sounded setting us off in motion.  Two steps from the line I looked over at my competition and I knew the race was going to be between him and me.  Sarcastically I said to him, "I guess it's a matter of how long I can hold onto your shoulder" as we speed out of the parking lot."

Well I got my answer, roughly 300 meters.  This morning I felt the pain of racing Nate Conrad in the Bothell DECA 5k at Bothell High School.  Nate set a hard pace from the beginning, only to "drop the hammer" the last mile.  Nate went on to win the race in 16:35 and I stumbled, or some would say "bounded", my way to a 17:35  2nd place finish.  Daniel Bi also raced today setting his 2012 XC Season preparations in motion.  Thank you both for pushing me and making my 1st road race of the summer an enjoyable one!
